PCSO Patrols at Walton Dam Supporting Action on Nuisance Bikes and Scooters

Police Community Support Officers have been carrying out patrols around Walton Dam, Chesterfield, as part of ongoing work to tackle the local policing priority of nuisance bikes and scooters across the Walton and West Policing area.

The area remains a popular destination for walkers, families, anglers and those enjoying the outdoors, and we are committed to ensuring it remains a safe and enjoyable space for everyone. During patrols, PCSOs have been engaging with members of the public, providing reassurance, and monitoring reports of anti-social behaviour linked to the inappropriate use of motorcycles, e-bikes and scooters.

Nuisance riding can have a significant impact on local communities, causing alarm, distress and safety concerns for those using public spaces. Officers are continuing to gather information, identify hotspots and take positive action where offences are identified.

We would also like to appeal for information about where nuisance bikes and scooters are being stored or kept. Intelligence from local residents is invaluable and can help us identify those responsible, locate vehicles being used illegally or anti-socially, and take enforcement action, including the seizure of vehicles where appropriate. Even the smallest piece of information could assist our enquiries.

We would like to thank residents for their continued support and encourage anyone who witnesses nuisance bikes or scooters being ridden in an anti-social manner to report it to us. Information from the community helps us build an accurate picture of where and when issues are occurring, enabling us to target patrols effectively.
